innocence of morning winds
over the ashen skies,
whose leaves withering
and seer of cypress wreathes
and bitter oleander’s pallor
bades adieu to the crescent scene - -

and,

the penultimate fight for each life
even those flickering nights
but must die for death in stillness
will make alive … the dawn’s sight -
whose limbs will feed the brittle day
and blood will wash memories away - -

now -

let us go out over that place, where
lover’s complacence of violet space
has marked the land of erstwhile brave;
and break free shackles of restful peace
look through the prisms of nascent glow
to the second birth of our moral soul.

Why is it sad Alok? Good ther is a second birth to comeback and live again :)

Life merely has to wave a fresh breath under our noses and we start craving for more .. the thought of second birth is comforting or more unsettling .. I am not really sure ..
PS - Thanks a heap for your warm wishes. Wishing you & yours a very happy 2008, again. :)

I got the feeling this was a visit to a graveyard of some kind and then you moved along to a place where life is celebrated and not the dead - am I anywhere near what this says? :)

ok, first things first, pls do remove that 'india' pic from the left hand side. its a plaigarised/photoshopped image of the american forces in battle of iowa, wwII. doesnt look nice.

will come back to the poem later. sorry.

Adi: I am surprised at the offence that u have taken. It is not the first time that u have been to my page. And it isn't a picture that I have put up yesterday. The picture is freely available at google images and when I had put it up I didn't have a clue that it was plagiarized and I believe neither were you becoz it is the first time that you are raising the issue. I have no issues in replacing it with a different flag but I have serious issues in the manner and the medium of protest that you chose(ref to yesterday’s nearly abusive comment even though knowing that u urself were not aware of this photo… u must have come to know of it recently). The flag is a representation of my love for the country where I was born and whose citizenship I still hold and will continue to hold for life. You shouldn't be hurt becoz there is no insult that is shown in the picture. If u wuld have seen the Bharat Bala's video album of vande matram(featuring Lata) .. so this can very well be one such image (though I am also not disputing that it might be a plagiarized one …. ) Remember one thing my friend, patriotism is the fire that burns in the heart ... it is the passion for ur country and it is the love that shouldn't make you feel belittled by something as insignificant as this. It can never be belittled by a single individual. I will change the picture not becoz I have any issues with it (this whole issue still makes no impact as I am not sure whether u r correct) but becoz another Indian feels hurt by it .... But I will still end with this .... don't let symbolism mark your passion ... love and passions can be symbolized but can never be bound to their shackles ... they are what makes u .. u can never make them ...u can just carry their flames …

Take care

i am thinking of a cyclic life. but also on why we must die to give new life. if life is a path to better things, then we dont die, maybe we never die, its just transcendence. a good one bro.

First of all sorry guys...couldnt reply to ur comments earlier ... Came back quite late from office and by the time I was thru with my dinner, phone calls and the post for 4rth Jan ... I was almost asleep

Pria: I guess it is difficult sometimes to mask the feelings in words ... generally on days when I feel like this I try to write words that some how has a glean but today somehow I didn't want to mask it ... hence the way that the words came out ... and by now u know I live on hope for life ... so there is the yearning to live again (or reborn) at the end of the piece ...

-------------------------------------

Aria: I know what you mean .. this longing for life is something I perhaps will never be able to fathom out ... It even breathes on the smallest atom of hope ... Second life is indeed unsettling coz it might be that one has to live it all over again but then who knows how things will turn out if one has one ... if u know what I mean ... thanks as always

------------------------------------

Kalai: What can I do to cheer you up ... yes dawn is what breaths life ... thank u again

-------------------------------------

Janice: I rem one of the phrases that floots one told me "sussing me up" :) ... yes perhaps metaphorically speaking grave is the right word ...I had gotten up very early in the morning at around 15 to 4 and the whole air had a very restless feel to it ... I went down to the housing complex park to just take a walk and feel refreshed in the light breeze that was blowing .. the stroll extended into a walk and everywhere it seemed that life was dead... there was practically no life anywhere ... the essence of death was so prominent and then as slowly dawn saw the sky .... somehow there were hurried activity of life .. somehow the horizon celebrated the existence of life .. somehow I felt life was born again .. I know I might sound a little stupid here but ... I didnt get my camera along with me .. I hope I had ... I scribbled some lines before I got ready for office ... few lines that formed what u read on the 3rd and lines that took the shape of what was posted on the 4rth ... to me there is a strong link between the two .... thank u as always

-----------------------------------

Andrew: Many thank to you my friend

-----------------------------------

Siva [Ghost particle]: U back to ur eloquent best ... enjoyed reading the layers in the comment more than my scribble

Thank guys

Most appreciated
