images of hibernal clouds
cling on the terrace walls
a wholesome day of scarce fancy
within lost imaginative prowls;

and the evening’s scarlet sky
assumes infinite scars
with twisted images of an afternoon
curled in an armchair by his side;

amidst mickle of old poems
and few pages of polemic verses
his mind wanders in a coppice -
- star’s search for twinkling lights;

'the evening’s scarlet sky
assumes infinite scars' - ooh I like this phrase - such remarkable imagery. Love that last verse - old books often do that to one.

hey Alok how can stars be searching for twinkiling lights when they themselves r twinkiling lights? :)

Janice: you know I so desperately wanted to use the word assume in this piece .. infact the whole sunday I was thinking I will use "assume" differently in a series of poems ... Now Sunday is gone :( I still will try .. though tht zest has fizzled out .... thank u much

-----------------------------------

Keshi: oh! they have dimmed under the clouds :) wht can they do poor fellows ... as it is they find it difficult to c in such dim twinkling light and then with tht the cloud doing a blind fold .. oh tht gives me ideas :) thanx mate
